Wind power offers light for over 1,600 households in Inner Mongoli

China’s coal consumption is projected to increase from about 1.5 billion tons to 3 billion tons a year by 2020. Even with its enormous appetite for this fossil fuel, much of China’s rural areas remain un-electrified. This situation exemplifies the twin problems of energy waste and energy poverty – an over consumption of fossil fuel and an under availability of energy service. China is the largest producer and consumer of coal in the world.

Beijing Bergey’s mini wind turbines (up to ten kilowatt) are low-cost home-sized wind systems that provide reliable levels of energy. With more than 300,000 herdsmen families in this region, many benefit from access to small amounts of electricity.

Power to telecom companies, ocean traffic navigation buoys, health clinics and micro-businesses
Displaced diesel and kerosene for electricity generation and lighting.
